I had a disaster on my hands, & a friend recommended Development Design Services, not only did they immediately identify the problem & advise what needed to be done, recommended how to resolve the situations, but how it could be done with a modern aesthetic that was still in keeping with my historical home, but cost effective. The Ed & Tina are incredibly talented, creative, knowledgable, but also cost effective, their team of workers are experts in all areas, & I have never seen anyone work so hard & diligent to complete the job with such efficiency, accuracy with taste in such a short window of time. What did I have done? I have a brick house, but the wood extension that was built before we moved in wasn't done very well. 1/ They removed the rotting wood on the outside of the extension, did the much necessary structural improvements before replacing the wood with an incredible fieldstone exterior. 2/ Replaced the leaking flat roofs & surrounding trim, added new posts & lighting to the roofs & replaced the outside broken lighting. 3/ Did a beautiful job of renovating an old bathroom with 1/2 paneled wainscoting, the makeover look stunning, modern, but still in keeping with the house aesthetic. We cannot begin to express how absolutely thrilled we are to have used Development Design Services. Ed and Tina came in with some great ideas about what to do with our small, old kitchen. Once we hired them work started within 3 days. The guys that worked on the project were super friendly and highly skilled. We fully gutted the old kitchen to the studs as well as took up the entire downstairs floor. the guys trenched my slab floor and brought my sink to the other side of the room ( I only know of one other house in Levittown that did this). The guys worked clean and were meticulous in the work and detail. Special shout out to Jose who was a master of all things and just a really good person. I found Development Design Services on the Houzz website. I had made one last ditch search to convince myself that I had exhausted my due diligence just before I signed with one of the contractors that I was leaning towards. I had searched Houzz extensively over a two-year period and had never seen this company listed before, yet in my last-minute search two companies popped up neither of which I had seen before. It was a week before the July 4th holiday weekend, and I decided to call both. I called Development Design Services first and spoke with Ed Torres. We arranged for him to come out to the house the following day, but that got changed as they were wrapping up another job for the holiday. That was a little bit of a downer, as I was going to be leaving town for 10 days and was hoping to conclude my contractor search before going away However, while I was away, and still considering my options, I received a text from Tina on behalf of Ed Torres of Development Design Services offering optional days that Ed could meet with me upon my return. Already unsure as to whether I should even bother meeting this guy after he had canceled our initial meeting, something within me told me to go ahead and let him come by and hear what he had to say. Ed arrived at our home on July 14th at the scheduled time. I opened my door and standing on the lawn was someone dressed in cowboy boots and hat, I blurted out that I never expected Ed Torres to be a cowboy. It turns out that Ed Torres was just what I needed. Ed and I discussed the scope of my renovation, which was very extensive. I noticed he was easy to talk to, thoughtful in his suggestions, professional, yet friendly and respectful. Two days later, I received another call asking if he could stop by again. I was not home at the time but told him to go ahead to the house. I arrived home and found Ed with two other persons who turned out to be his wife Tina his partner at Development Design Services and their construction manager Flacco, all three was a good fit for my personality. Although the estimate was very important, it was not the real deciding factor for me. I needed to find a contractor with whom I was comfortable and confident that I would have the least headache. I am very picky and take professionalism and communication very seriously. Before signing a contract both Ed and Tina discussed the stone options and invited my husband and I to their stone supplier to look at what was available…unbeknown to them, this personal shopper experience was the icing on the cake…this was exactly the kind of service I needed…thank you Ed & Tina. We want to share our experiences with Development Design Services as I do not select contractors, especially for a complete kitchen renovation, without a referral from a friend or someone who had used them in the past. My wife and I had wanted to redo our kitchen for a couple of years now but didn't know anyone who had a good experience with their contractor. We then decided to search websites such as Houzz and Angie's List. As we searched and read reviews, we wondered if any of these reviews were "real" but decided to add our name to these sites anyway. The phone calls that followed were overwhelming and the contractors that called seemed rehearsed. We just never received a good vibe from any of them until I received a call from Edwin Torres from Design Development. We thought that this guy either was genuine or just a great actor, but something told us to give him an opportunity to at least come and give us an estimate. It turns out meeting Ed and his wife was the best decision we made. Ed came to our house at the scheduled time, and to our surprise, he brought along his wife. They are a husband-and-wife team! The two of them reminded us of Chip and Joanna from Fixer Upper. We learned both were graduates from FIT, Fashion Institute of Technology. We liked what they suggested, and their estimate was very reasonable. But I was still skeptical as I never heard of this company nor found the company anywhere online. I thought, red flag! So, I asked for their certificate of insurance and called the insurance company. Turns out, they were fully insured. Then came contract time. We were very surprised to see that the contract was written in such a way to satisfy us with the timing of the job, payment schedule and the details of what was included. However, we wanted to see and speak with one of their customers to give us that comfort level. Ed did one better. We were invited multiple times to see an actual job they were currently doing. Not only a kitchen but in fact, a complete house renovation. We spoke to the owners of that house, and they had nothing but good things to say. So, we signed the contract with the terms that were more in our favor. You can't beat that at all. As a bonus, Ed and his wife, Tina, even accompanied us to shops to help with the selecting paint color, tiles, fixtures, etc. I doubt you will find that kind of help from anyone. Ed promised the job would be completed in 6-8 weeks, and yes, it was done on time. Were there issues, Yes! of course, but more importantly were they resolved to our satisfaction and the answer to that again is Yes, of course!. Hello, so, DDS completed a complete backyard reno for us this April 2021. It was a massive demo of old rotting decking with unforseeable junk underneath. The job was completed within budget and the time frame indicated. Ed and Tina were absolutely wonderful! From the moment I reached out to them about our backyard renovation, I received consistent communication and support. As somewhat of a designer myself, I found DDS's experience with home design incredibly valuable to the success of the project. Attention to details such as color and texture made me feel confident in their abilities and showcases the care they have towards their clients. For instance, my first idea was to have a teak or synthetic wood siding as a feature wall, but DDS took into consideration the color of my existing furniture and hot tub and showed me stone options which better matched the backyard's tone.
